Overview

Galih Coffee, nestled on Jl. Ketapang in the heart of Medan Petisah, offers a refined yet approachable coffee shop experience that blends local charm with thoughtful menu selections. This café thrives on its signature beverages like the rich Kopi Susu Aren and smooth Sanger Espresso, which showcase the artful fusion of traditional Indonesian coffee culture with modern tastes.

Beyond its standout coffee creations, Galih Coffee impresses with a menu that balances savory dishes and comforting drinks. Highlights such as Carbonara Pasta and Spaghetti Black Pepper Sauce bring an unexpected but welcome variety to the table, complementing favorites like Americano Iced Coffee and Hazelnut Latte. For those seeking lighter refreshment, the Lychee Tea offers a refreshing counterpoint, while local delights like Pempek Lenjer connect patrons to regional flavors.

The café’s interior embraces a warm, earthy aesthetic dominated by wood finishes, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages lingering. Both indoor and outdoor seating options cater to different preferences, though space can feel limited, particularly for vehicles as parking is scarce—a detail worth noting for those arriving by car. The ambiance receives consistent praise for its cozy vibe, though some guests have noted temperature and seating comfort issues that the management may consider addressing to elevate the overall experience.

Galih Coffee’s location in Medan’s city center positions it well for urban professionals, coffee aficionados, and those looking to explore authentic Indonesian coffee in a relaxed setting. The presence of facilities like a musholla on the second floor adds thoughtful convenience, appealing to community-minded visitors. Friendly baristas and attentive service round out a visit that combines quality offerings with a welcoming spirit.

In summary, Galih Coffee stands as a hidden gem for lovers of well-crafted coffee and simple yet satisfying meals. It’s a destination where the warmth of Indonesian hospitality meets carefully curated flavors, ideal for casual meet-ups, solo work sessions, or moments of pause in a bustling city. Keep in mind the parking constraints and seating nuances, but expect a sincere and memorable café experience.

Great place, friendly barista, good coffee, affordable price. Be aware of parking if you drive a car. Not a lot of space.

First time being here and I think it’s quite nice. No wonder there are so many customers. Food is nice and affordable for a cafe that’s located in the city center area. Ambience is nice. Musholla is in floor 2

Food is okay. The ambiance was great too! But it’s a bit hot even in indoor. The air-conditioner wasn’t working well I guess. The service is great too!

I discovered this hidden gem by accident while going to a seafood restaurant. But definitely won't be my last visit. Coffee here is good. Price is acceptable. There's outdoor and indoor seating. The interior is very earthy, dominated by wood. It's a bit difficult to park here for car, unless you're on a bike.

Hazelnut coffee is a bit too watery to our taste. Americano is not bad. But the decor is awsome. Unfortunately there are some tools a bit misplaced. If the chairs outdoor got some back to lean on, those seats with backs are too close with the aircond outdoor set, so it was kinda hot to sit, and the tables are not so low, it could be perfect. And the sunset rays goes straight to the eyes make it a no no to sit on after 5pm. They take cash and e wallet like gopay

This coffee shop serves good coffee starting at IDR 25,000, offering great value for quality brews. They have two separate seating areas, both with indoor and outdoor options to suit different preferences. Street parking is available, though it can be a bit tricky for cars since it’s on a smaller road. The ambience is perfect for hanging out and chilling with friends, creating a relaxed vibe. It’s especially popular with youngsters and tends to get packed on weekends, so arriving early helps avoid crowds. Overall, a solid spot for casual meetups.
